I have a Toshiba Satellite 2410-S203 with Windows XP Pro, SP2, all other regular Windows updates, 1.8ghz Pentium 4, and most importantly, my display driver: Nvidia GeForce4 420 Go.
I have updated the driver in the past, and recently I updated to the latest version which completely screwed up my display. Right now, with the latest driver (I tried the latest 2 drivers, actually, once this problem started), I have about a half inch black bar on the right side of my screen. I originally tried to rollback the driver, and when I did I had no 3d Acceleration or DirecDraw (according to dxdiag, DirectX diagnostics; I have version 9c.)
What I've tried is looking all over the net for solutions, and can't find the right one. I have restarted in safe mode several times, and have tried the following drivers: 66.93, 61.77, and 56.64. All of these (when I uninstall the driver and install one of these) end up with the black bar. Previous versions of the driver (45.23 and prior) disables my 3D Acceleration and my DirecDraw. |
